![]() ![]() I wouldn't have figured this out without a few hints. The most impressive thing about Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition, however, is how it manages to implement so many ray tracing features while also allowing for improved performance. Thank to y'all for pointing me in the right direction. I can't remember something this stupid with a PC game in decades. I thought simply installing the game from the one and only game tile would give me the latest edition. ![]() Jubilations!Įdit: Ok, what I bought was the Metro Exodus Gold Edition (with the DLC included) - and apparently the Enhanced Edition included as well. Here are the Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition System Requirements (Minimum) CPU: Info CPU SPEED: 4 Cores + HT RAM: 8 GB OS: Windows 10 64-Bit VIDEO CARD. I guess I'm going to have to uninstall, download the stand alone installer for the Enhanced Edition and install again from that. The way this is set up is not exactly very plain. Really could you not have made the enhanced version an update or at least made it to where you could disable ray tracing in game. ![]() Well there's a first time for everything. If the first games in the series specialized in the claustrophobic, often linear atmosphere, Metro Exodus brings you to the surface in a semi-open-world world of all beauty, especially if you are passionate about post-apocalyptic landscapes that contrast with the vast expanse of Siberia. I bought the game on sale the other day and simply installed it, lol. Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition will blow up your electric bill. No apparent way to install via GOG Galaxy. The Enhanced Edition appears to be available as a regular installer under "extras". It’s okay to be the same resolution as them you’re not going to get cooties. But it appears that simply installing the game from that tile in GOG Galaxy will install the regular edition. Oh and Microsoft you don’t have to beat PS5 in pixels for Christ’s sake. Another epic fail by a dev who just doesn’t get it. Because as it stands stutters and frame drops takes you out of gameplay immersion.Īnyway rant over. That not every game needs to hit 4K at the expense of smoother gameplay. Microsoft going forward must dictate that performance comes first. Only a twat would want to play a game at a higher resolution and sacrifice smooth stutter free game play. This resolution shit over performance has got to stop. I pray to god they don’t “enhance” it there and fuck up the frame rate in the process. I play it on PS5 exclusively now because it runs smoother and much more stable. There was zero and I mean zero reason for them not to focus on frame rate over resolution.īut what did they do? Focus on the 4K talking point and making it comparable to PC when in reality it runs even worse now before they enhanced it on Series X. They pulled this same fucking stunt with Ark on Series X. Why the fuck is it so hard for these fucking moronic developers to understand that? There is literally no argument they could make that says yeah we chose resolution over smooth gameplay because it was best for the game. You make sure that the performance is as stable and smooth as possible and then you take the resolution as high up as it can go without sacrificing the former for the latter. They need to stop it with this shit already. There is no rhyme or reason for the stutters and FPS drops on Series X except for the fact that the god damn developer chose to push the resolution a bit too high. They keep focusing on resolution at the cost of smoother buttery gameplay. Both hv the same content, think of enhanced of a rtx remaster. Enhanced is for rtx cards, better graphics essentially. I have a serious fucking problem with developers continuing to pull this fucking stunt with enhanced upgrades on Series X. Enhanced is also more stable and you can turn off the raytracing. The nice part is Sony will switch over and leave PS4 sooner than later but Series S is here for the entire gen. I know they want the budget gamer market and they got it but games will suffer in design regardless if we see it or not. Xbox will copy the controller for sure and possibly the SSD to catch up. The studio also added, 'The PC Enhanced Edition will offer additional ray tracing features, including advanced ray-traced reflections and support for DLSS 2.0 on NVIDIA hardware, which offers sharper image details and increased framerates and display resolutions. I think Xbox is making an updated console already and Sony may be also. Next gen I think it will be a standard for both consoles but right now Sony has a leg upon with the SSD. PCs have to many variances to code for to use the top end SSDs like PS5 has. The games will do most of the talking these days as tech is similar but PS can do a lot with that SSD in upcoming games like R&C and level design that will be hard to duplicate for a long time. ![]() I like the route Sony went with super speed as loading saves me a lot of time these days. Really both advantages are negligible in the end. Most people aren’t gaming on VRR monitors or TVs. ![]()
